How to Cancel Hosting with Other Providers

In order to transfer your email and/or website to CWD, you need to cancel your hosting service with your current provider. To assist you in this process, we have listed the most common hosting companies below together with the procedure that they require.

*The following information is subject to change. CWD will endeavour to keep this information up-to-date as best possible.

Adept

  • Fax and email a termination letter on your company’s letterhead. For private or individuals a normal letter will suffice i.e no letterhead.
  • The letter must be signed by the account holder with Adept.
  • Make a follow-up call to the cancellations department to ensure that the termination request has been received and processed.
  • The transfer ticket must be submitted with the Registrant’s details, as reflected on the whois record at that time.

Afrihost

  • To cancel your hosting with Afrihost.com you need to browse to Afrihost
  • Login with your email address and password and follow the termination procedure.
  • There will be a 30 day notice period before Hetzner may submit the transfer ticket.
  • Make a follow-up call to the cancellations department to ensure that the termination request has been received and processed.

  • Fax a termination letter on your company’s letterhead. The letter must be signed by the legal owner of the domain.
  • Fax and email a copy of your ID.

  • The request must originate from the email address they have on record and include a clearly scanned copy of an identity document i.e. passport, driver’s license or national identity document.
  • Termination requests originating from an alternative email address will be ignored.

  • Phone Mweb Accounts department on 087 701 0555 and inform them of your intention to transfer the domain name to CWD.
  • A termination form will be sent to the domain owner after security questions have been asked.
  • The form has to be completed and sent to the details listed on the form.
  • Once received, Mweb will process the termination request.

Snowball

  • You have to give 1 month’s calendar notice for the termination of services and the below steps have to be followed.
  • Log in to the client area
  • Click on the link in the top navigation called ‘Services’
  • Locate the service you want to cancel and click on the view details icon on the right-hand side
  • Click on the button at the bottom of that page called ‘Request Cancellation’
  • Briefly describe your reason for Cancellation
  • Choose Cancellation Type, ‘Immediate’ or ‘End of Billing Period’.
  • Please note that even if you choose Immediately you are still liable for payment till the end of the billing period. Snowball has a 30-day cancellation policy.
  • Select the ‘Request Cancellation’ button

  • Please note that by default they require notification of non-renewal on or before the 20th of each month. If you do not provide this notice, you will be charged the rate for the next renewal term as stipulated on their product pages.
